ST HELENS' vision to become "the town in the forest" will take a step closer as it plants its two millionth tree.
The borough has seen tree cover rise from four per cent to 12 per cent in 13 years with 420 trees planted each day since Mersey Forest was established.
Local school children will help plant the Ginkgo biloba tree. The planting ceremony will take place at Sutton Manor, near Jubits Lane.
