CALLERS to Greater Manchester Police's non-emergency switchboard have experienced problems with the service.
Engineers are working to restore full service to its 0161 872 5050 after it malfunctioned on Thursday night.
The emergency 999 line is not affected by the problems.
A GMP spokesman said: "This is a difficult situation and I would ask the public to continue to be patient as our telephone providers are urgently working to return normal service to GMP and the public who are trying to contact us"
The public are urged not to contact 999 unless it is an emergency.
