A MASKED man wielding a machete threatened a shopkeeper before he made off with money and cigarettes.
The 43-year-old woman was in the back of N & E News, Tennyson Avenue, Bury, when she heard a bell on the door at 12.20pm on Wednesday. As she walked into the front of the shop, she was confronted by a masked man who forced her back behind the counter.
The raider then demanded money and produced a machete.
The victim filled the bag with money and the man stole a quantity of cigarettes before leaving the shop. He is described as white, between 5ft 10ins and 6ft tall, of slim build. He was wearing a black ski mask, plain black jacket and black tracksuit bottoms.
