THE family of a staunch charity supporter who died three years ago held a special event in his memory - and raised a further £2,000 for his favourite cause.
Horwich man Stewart MacDonald donated funds regularly to the charity Children Today until his death.
When his family held a celebration of his life at Ridgemont House, Horwich, more than 100 people attended, raising money through raffles, auctions and other activities. The band Vested Interest also performed.
Children Today supplies life enhancing pieces of equipment to youngsters with disabilities. Its local organsier Liz Oakes said: "It was a wonderful evening. We have children in Bolton waiting for equipment and we are always looking for more help."
