AFTER being voted as the best Whites striker of all time - John McGinlay admitted to feeling a little embarrassed despite finishing third overall behind Nat Lofthouse in the Legends poll.
"It was a great night for Nat but, from a personal point of view, I don't know about getting the best striker award ahead of him," he said.
"Of course it's always an honour to win things like this and I'll take it that way.
"But to be honest, I'm a little bit embarrassed by it. Nat is the main man. It was his night at his club and I'm pleased he was able to enjoy it.
"It was an absolutely tremendous evening. You couldn't have seen the club putting on something like this for more than 600 people ten years ago and it shows just how far Bolton have come.
"An evening like this needed to be done while older players like Nat can still be appreciated. Sadly there were a few who weren't here and it would have been nice if they had been."
