A MAN was stripped naked, had his body hair shaved and was covered in green paint in a drunken prank.
Steven Bostock was given a 21-month jail sentence at Bolton Crown Court for his involvement in a "humiliating and prolonged" attack on his terrified victim.
The court was told that at 11pm, last July 24, the victim was at Bostock's house drinking when he was punched in the face by co-accused Kieran Jackson and robbed of his mobile phone.
Bostock, aged 29, of Clyde Street, went upstairs and brought down a black dress and a pink top and the victim was ordered to take his clothes off. They dressed him in the women"s clothes and then told him to change into a pair of tracksuit bottoms.
Both defendants used a pair of electric clippers to shave hair off the victim"s head, chest and private parts.
Next, they pulled down his trousers and began to paint his head, arms, torso and genitals with green paint.
The victim pleaded with his attackers to stop, but his cries were repeatedly ignored.
He was left in the front room and managed to escape from the house fleeing to Bolton town centre where he phoned for an ambulance.
The court heard that it took several days for the paint to be removed from his body.
The victim suffered injuries including a thick lip and bruising to both of his eyes.
Bostock was arrested on August 28 and pleaded not guilty to assault before changing his plea to guilty on the first day of the trial.
Brian McKenna, defending Bostock, said: "He had too much to drink and joined in due to some sort of drunken bravado."
Recorder Roger Farley told Bostock: "This was in your house and you took no steps to stop what was going on.
"Undoubtedly, the co-accused took the lead in this disgusting behaviour, but this was a drunken prank that went too far."
The sentencing of co-accused Kieran Jackson, aged 20, of Clyde Street, who instigated the attack, was adjourned until April 11.
