A CLASSIC modern drama is the next production from the award-winning Phoenix Theatre Company.
Jason Crompton directs Willy Russell's Educating Rita at Chorley Old Road Methodist Church from April 13 to 16.
Frank has education, Rita wants it. Being surrounded by academics has made him a sad and bitter man. Rita wants to educate herself in order the change her life, but will she be better, or worse off as a result?
Her education changes her into a different woman - stronger, more resilient but also moves her out of her class into a world which is much more challenging, but probably not so honest as the one she leaves.
The piece was written in 1981, and has never been out of production anywhere in the world.
Natalie Crompton is taking the title role of Rita, with Alan Macpherson as disillusioned university lecturer Frank. Tickets are available from 01204 840448 or www.bolton phoenixtheatre.com
