THE council and police seem to be patting themselves on the back, and the government is offering praise for their success in sorting out youths drinking in Bolton's many town centres.
I personally don't think this has been dealt with fully yet.
Westhoughton now has CCTV monitors watching over the main street. But Daisy Hill is now the place the drunken idiots seem to congregate. These kids are still on the streets drinking, causing disturbance and generally doing as they please.
When 31 teenagers assemble in the street drinking, shouting and damaging fence panels, and the police do not respond, what are residents supposed to do? Have any other residents noticed increases in teenagers drinking in their streets since the town centres became no-go zones?
I don't believe this problem has gone away, it's just moved into our residential areas, especially on a Friday night.
So don't pat yourselves on the back for half a job, Bolton Council.
Daisy Hill resident
