WINTER BOWLING
OPENSHAW PARK
IN week 13 played on Sunday, March 13, Clive Chapman of Heywood defeated Colin Lane of Chadderton 21.7 in the final.
Semi finalists were (Mr Consistent) Les Toth Clarence and Mrs Jean Stockton (Dobbies S & SC) who defeated husband Bill in the quarter final.
In the subsidiary competition Mrs Sandra Roberts of Burnley defeated Frank Heselwood of Heywood 15-12.
John Newton of Edgworth became the latest winner in week 14 beating Brian Flynn of Heywood 21-17 in the final.
Semi finalists were Les Toth losing 21-20 to Newton and Kevin Newberry 21-7 to Flynn.
The ladies prize was won by Mrs Ann Lysons of Boothstown who reached the quarter final.
In the Subsidiary Competition Colin Lane of Chadderton defeated Brian Taylor of Buersil Park, Rochdale 15-9 in the final.
Winter bowling will be held on March 27 (Easter Sunday) as usual.
All the winter bowlers and supporters wish Neville McWilliams the club secretary a speedy recovery.

Entries are invited from mixed pairs, limited to 20 pairs. Guaranteed four games each pair.
Aggregate league scores up to the semi-final.

Finals day - Saturday July 16, 1pm start.
