THE disgusting state of Bolton's roads is, we are warned, set to get worse. The council cannot afford to repair them.
A few days later, however, we are told that the same council plans to spend £2.5 million on cycleways, funded by the National Lottery and - wait for it - the council's highways programme and transport infrastructure funding. As they bang over their next pothole, motorists could be forgiven for speculating that the problem is not a lack of money, but mistaken priorities on the part of the current leadership.
