TWO teenagers have been sent to a young offenders' institution for a series of robberies at Metrolink stations across Bury.
The boys, who cannot be named for legal reasons, are aged 16 and 17 and are from Crumpsall. They admitted the offences and were sentenced at Bury Youth Court on Thursday.
The 16-year-old received 18 months for carrying out five robberies between Wednesday, February 2, and Friday, February 4.
The 17-year-old was sentenced to 12 months for one robbery on Friday, February 4.
Detective Sergeant David Baines from Bury Robbery Unit said: "I am very pleased with the outcome of this case. We take reports of robbery very seriously and responded immediately to the reports in this case."
