THOROUGHLY Modern Millie comes to Manchester next month.
The Palace Theatre production stars Lesley Joseph (Birds of a Feather) as the eccentric Mrs Meers, proprietor of the Hotel Priscilla, Grace Kennedy (Carmen Jones, The Cotton Club) as the legendary diva Muzzy Van Hossmere, and Donna Steele (Peggy Sue Got Married, The Fully Monty) as the thoroughly modern Millie Dillmount.
With a highly talented cast of more than 25 actors, a 10-piece orchestra and a set taken from the original West End production, this show will definitely dazzle.
Thoroughly Modern Millie tells the story of a young girl from Kansas, Millie Dillmount, who travels to New York in search of a new life for herself in the "Roaring 20s".
She is a modern woman who has a plan - find a place to stay, get a good job as a secretary to a very rich man, and then marry him.
Of course, nothing quite works. The owner of the hotel where Millie is staying kidnaps young orphaned girls to sell to the Far East, her very rich boss is slow in proposing marriage, and the guy she actually falls in love with is poor as a church mouse.
With great show-stopping numbers and fabulous dance routines, together with hilarious kidnap sequences, Millie is suitable for all ages and is a great night out at the theatre.
Thoroughly Modern Millie is at The Palace between April 19 and 30. Tickets are priced between £9.50 and £26.50 and are available on 0870 4016000.
