THE residents of Little Lever, where industries have for some years been in a declining condition, will be pleased to learn that a company is being formed to purchase the Bradley Mills which used to be rented to Messrs Young, but closed more than a year ago.
Gray cloth is to be woven and orders are being placed immediately for a hundred looms which it is hoped may be working four months hence.
THE contract for the erection of a new Liberal Club at Little Lever has been secured by Mr JF Grundy and it is expected that building operations will commence at once.
The new club, which is to stand on land obtained in Albert Street, in the centre of the village, will be a one-storey building and consist of a large billiard room holding two tables, a room to be used for reading and committee purposes, lavatories and a cellar for the heating apparatus.
