MANCHESTER United star Ryan Giggs has bulldozed his £1.9 million mansion.

He will now replace it with a £3 million six-bedroom house.

The new property in Swinton will have a steam room, swimming pool and gym. According to reports, a walk-in wardrobe will be bigger than one of the bedrooms.

The plans to demolish the red-brick mansion, which was built in 1901 by the Lane Family, and build a home from local stone, were given planning permission by Salford City Council.

A security fence will be placed around the new property.

Giggs is planning to keep the sun dial which was a feature of the original building.
