I READ with disbelief about the Town Hall's plans to spend £2.5m on cycle routes which will hardly be used.
With the best will in the world, the few people who actually own a cycle may try this method of going to work, but the first time they arrive at their destination looking like they have just climbed out of a swimming pool fully clothed will be their last.
Of course we hear that there is no money to maintain our local roads properly while our wonderful leaders believe that Bolton should become a city, even though they are not capable of maintaining a central swimming pool.
Let the Town Hall bosses use their own money for the cycle tracks, and then they may just begin to understand the value of it.
