TEN Breightmet youngsters went back to nature for a special Easter event organised by the Wildlife Trust in Bolton.
The event, held at Red Lane community gardens and funded by Big Lotto and East Bolton Regeneration, provided an afternoon of fun and educational activities which included games, site maintenance and habitat creation.
The children were shown how to sow wild flower seeds and maintain flower beds, and were given the chance to create hanging baskets with suitable species provided by the trust. Hard-working trust staff not only organised and helped the youngsters taking part, but were also able to answer questions and explain about the wildlife and habitats that exist in gardens like the Red Lane site.
The event was one of a series organised by the trust for local children - and the verdict of the children was clear: having a wild life is fun!
