RADCLIFFE CC were just one of a host of local clubs to attend newly-appointed community cricket coach Joe Scuderi's specially arranged "meet the coaches" meeting at Ramsbottom's Acre Bottom clubhouse.
The 36-year-old Queenslander has recently taken up the position and is keen to get to work with local clubs and schools in the area.
Joe has a wealth of experience in the game after spending more than a dozen seasons in the Lancashire League, principally with the Nelson club.
He originally played first class cricket with South Australia and has recently returned from Malaysia after captaining the Italian national side in their World Cup qualifiers.
The meeting was a resounding success and Joe was able to get club details and contacts and will now target local primary schools so they can benefit from his undoubted coaching skills.
He plans to play a big part in a proposed cricket mentoring scheme linked to Sports Coach UK and the Lancashire Cricket Board Coach Education Scheme.
Also in attendance was Coun Yvonne Creswell, chairman of RADSAC, Martin Kay from Bury Cricket Development Group and representatives from the following other clubs, Elton, Woodbank, Prestwich, Unsworth, Bury, Walshaw, Brooksbottoms, ELPM and Bury Women's CC.
Any clubs, schools or organisations wishing to contact Joe can ring him on 0161-253 6766 or e-mail him on j.scuderi@bury.gov.uk
