TWO Bolton Secondary Schools were crowned joint champions in Bolton Sixth Form College's Team Maths competition.
Tensions were running high when 26 teams from eight schools competed for the prestigious title of 2005 winners.
More than 100 Year 10 and Year 11 pupils arrived to compete in the closely fought competition for the trophy last week.
When the final scores were calculated Thornleigh Salesian College and Sharples Secondary School were announced as the joint winners.
A spokesman from Bolton Sixth Form College said: "The schools were very pleased with their achievement and will both receive a trophy."
