POLICE want to trace a man who used a debit card stolen from the house of a young family by a gang armed with a machete and a gun.
The man has used the card at Boots stores across the North-west.
The card was stolen from a house on Haseley Close, Tyldesley, in July last year when three burglars entered in the early hours of the morning.
Two of the men, one armed with a machete and one with a sawn-off shotgun, went upstairs where the 35-year-old victim, his wife and four-month-old daughter were asleep in bed.
The men demanded that the victim hand over the keys to the family cars.
No one was injured during the robbery, but the offenders made off with the cars and other property worth more than £100,000. The card was used 43 times in Cheshire, Merseyside and North Wales in the week following the robbery, to buy £40 worth of gift vouchers each time.
Det Con Debbie Pennington from Leigh CID said: "The armed robbery in which this card was stolen was particularly frightening for the family and despite no one being injured they were left very shaken by the incident."
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Leigh CID on 0161 856 7295 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
