Official Wanderers coaches set off from Burnden Park at 8.30am to kick off the biggest weekend in the lives of most Bolton fans.

Some 33,000 supporters made their way south for the Coca Cola Cup Final date with Liverpool at 5pm tomorrow.

(Sadly, the Wanderers returned empty-handed after losing 2-1).

BOLTONS register office is set to move from Paderborn house in Bolton town centre to a 19th century manor house Mere Hall at Halliwell.

The scheme has been drawn up by Bolton City Challenge, which has been allocated £37.5 million of Government money over five years to revitalise Halliwell.

RATEPAYERS are being greeted with an unexpected knock at the door.

Bolton town hall workers are delivering rate demands themselves and earning extra money.

The scheme, worked out by finance chiefs with the local government union Nalgo, will bring a saving of about £5,000, it is estimated.

MEMBERS of Bolton Lads Club have gained a mini-bus with their bright idea for an advertising gimmick.

Paul Haywood and Tony Rink hit on the idea of selling advertising space on the side of the bus heavily discounted when they bought it from Gordons.

DYNAMITERS attacked Government buildings in Cyprus at Nicosia, Limassol and Larnaca early today, causing a fire and serious damage at the Cyprus Radio station.

No casualties were reported.

Dawn over the island colony recently torn by riots over the campaign for union with Greece saw police cars and military jeeps patrolling the streets.

WITH at least two mills faced with a full weeks close-down at Easter, 1,500 cotton workers in Farnworth, Kearsley and Walkden may have to take an extended holiday.

Notices of possible holiday extensions have been posted at several other smaller mills, but union officials are hopeful that late orders will enable some of the firms to withdraw or vary the notices.

THE HERO of Kandahar and Pretoria, Field Marshal Lord Roberts KG, visited Bolton today for the purpose of inspecting the local Volunteers and presenting the prizes to the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment, 2nd Volunteer Battalion.

A MEETING of the Bolton Municipal Reform Society was held on Friday evening, in the Vegetarian Restaurant, Newport Street, Cllr Partington in the chair.

Mr Allen Clarke reported on the allotments movement, with particulars which the Town Clerk has obtained from other towns.

At most places enumerated the income from the allotments exceeded the expenditure.
