MUM and daughter Glenys Sharples and Vicky Butcher will be putting their best feet forward - at the double.

On May 12 at 6.30pm, they will do a dignified dash over hot coals when they take part in a fundraising Firewalk in Victoria Square, Bolton.

The event is in aid of Bolton Hospice, where 32 year-old Vicky works in the fundraising department.

And since charity begins at home, Vicky enlisted the help of her 57-year-old mum Glenys, who is also the grandmother of three youngsters.

The pair will join a limited number of brave souls paying £100 each to help the hospice to walk the sizzling 20 feet

"I wasn't sure about this at first," admitted Glenys, a credit controller at the Bolton Evening News, "but it's for a very good cause so I'm willing to have a go." The group of volunteers take part in a two-hour bonding session before their hot walk. And the hospice is keen to encourage workers in local firms and offices to "Nominate Your Boss" to take part in the event.

"It's a chance to get them to hot-foot it around for a change!" said Vicky.
