A MOTORING group in Bolton has been given a £500 grant by council chiefs to buy computer equipment.
A hi-tech projector has been purchased by Bolton Advanced Motorists which will enable the group to host presentations for members and guest speakers.
The group had applied for funding through Bolton Councils Voluntary Sector Grant Scheme in November last year to update their equipment.
And last week the group were celebrating after they were given the grant which helped pay for the £1,200 personal computer projector.
Hugh German, vice chairman, said: "We have been using video technology for a long time now and we have been looking to update our equipment for the last 12 months.
"Guest speakers come in and they usually have a lap top presentation which we cannot accommodate, but now we can with this new piece of equipment."
PC Steve Openshaw, from Greater Manchester Police, will be the guest speaker at the groups annual meeting on May 3 at 8pm at Dobbies Sports and Social Club, Bradley Fold Road, Bradley Fold.
The group will also hold an enrolment evening on May 4 for new members at Lostock Parish Hall, Tempest Road, Lostock.
