LIKE any professional sportsman, Stelios appears to be keeping his options open as he waits for Bolton Wanderers to offer him a new contract.

It is true that his current three-year deal expires at the end of next season and that the midfielder is looking for an improvement but reports suggesting he is undecided about his future at the Reebok, seem to have exaggerated the situation.

Once again, comments that appear to have been made while he was on international duty over the last week have given the impression that the 30-year-old Greek star is not planning to stay in Bolton, when the opposite is the case.

Stelios could not be happier with life at the Wanderers, where he has developed a great affection for the club and the fans as well as rising to the Premiership standard - he was eighth in the latest Actim index that measures the performances of every Premier League player.

But he revealed this week that he has spoken to his Reebok bosses about a new deal and, until an agreement is reached, there will always be speculation over his future.

"I am expecting the terms of my new contract, to see if it is okay for me and my family," Stelios is quoted as saying.

"At the moment I do not know any details in terms of the money Bolton intend to offer me or for how many years a new contract will be.

"I am open for an offer from any team and this is because I am professional. I'm especially interested in English teams because the terms of my contract are easily approachable for these teams."
