A MAN was taken to hospital with a slash wound to his head after a fight in Bolton.
The incident happened at around 5.35pm on Monday when police in Bolton were called to Derby Street.
The man, believed to be in his late 20s, was taken to the Royal Bolton Hospital where he is currently receiving treatment for his injuries.
It is believed that a bladed weapon was used on the victim, who apparently does not speak English and is thought to be of Iraqi or Kurdish nationality.
The scene, near to Syd's takeaway shop, has been condoned off while forensic examinations are carried out.
A police spokesman said the investigation was in its early stages and that they were awaiting an interpreter to help them question the man.
