FIREFIGHTERS are to ask Bolton Council to demolish an empty building which has become a magnet for firebugs.
Crews were called to the building at the rear of Deane Church Lane, Daubhill, on Saturday evening - the latest in a string of call-outs in recent weeks.
Vandals had set fire to paper and cardboard inside the premises.
Sub Officer Ian Ainsworth said: "It seems to be a favourite haunt for youngsters in the area who are fascinated with setting fire to whatever they can lay their hands on.
"It's not only becoming a problem for us but the building is starting to become unsafe and could potentially pose a risk of collapse.
"We will ask the local authority if they can look at what can be done to demolish the premises."
The building was formerly the home of Bolton Scaffolding.
