BIG Sam Allardyce sent Sir Elton John flowers and a good luck card before his appearance at the Reebok Stadium on Sunday.
The music legend, in return, praised the Bolton Wanderers' manager for a successful season in which the Whites finished sixth in the Premiership and qualified for the UEFA Cup.
Sir Elton - a former chairman of Watford FC - said: "I admire what Bolton Wanderers and Sam Allardyce have achieved, and I hope they do well in Europe next season."
He added: "It was an honour to be performing at such a magnificent stadium. Sam sent me some flowers and a good luck message."
The singer wowed more than 22,000 fans at his weekend concert. Lulu was a special guest, and there was a surprise appearance from Bolton comedian Peter Kay, who opened the concert with his hit (Is This The Way To) Amarillo.
Reebok Stadium bosses are now turning their attention to anotherSummer Concert at the Reebok highlighting Coldplay on Monday, July 4, and Tuesday, July 5.
