I AM sure it is very honourable of Sir Bob Geldof to draw attention to the plight of those countries in need of help, and Gordon Brown spouting off about giving help to save millions.
What about people in this country who go into hospital for something minor and never come out.
In October 2003 my husband was admitted to hospital after a car accident, sustaining a cracked sternum, broken wrist, and a cracked rib.
He was hospitalised for eight weeks, during which time he developed Clostridium Difficle. He was barrier nursed and treated for severe diarrhoea with antibiotics, which had little or no effect.
He was then moved to a rehabilitation home. Nine days later he was re-admitted back to The Royal Bolton Hospital and developed MRSA.
During all the nine weeks he was being barrier nursed in an isolation ward.
I have been deprived of a husband who died in agony due to insufficient funds being allocated to hospitals and understaffing.
So Sir Bob Geldof, get your priorities right and round up some of these millionaires giving of their time to dig deeper into their pockets.
