HUNDREDS of people are expected to flock to Turton Rotary Clubs 12th annual charity duck race this weekend.
Around 2,000 yellow rubber ducks will be thrown off the Bradshaw Bridge in to the brook in several heats which will start at 11am on Sunday. The first three ducks to finish the 150 yard long course in each heat will be entered in to the grand final.
Prizes include a £1,000 holiday voucher donated by Village Travel in Bromley Cross, a 14inch DVD and Television comb and 24 bottles of wine.
Tickets are £1 each and all money raised will go to the Royal Bolton Hospital Churchill Cancer Appeal, Bolton Hospice and Derian House.
There will also be a free duck race with cash prizes for all children under 12.
Last year the club raised more than £11,000 and are hoping for a similar success this year.
