BOLTON'S council leader swapped her business suit for a T-shirt and donned walking boots to help raise cash for treats for the elderly.
Cllr Babraba Ronson joined other supporters from the Luncheon Clubs at Horwich Resource Centre on a sponsored walk to Rivington Pike.
Joining them were the Mayor and Mayoress of Horwich Cllr Stephen Rock and Cllr Lynn Rock, Bolton council staff and Horwich town council staff.
Friends, family and workmates sponsored the walkers and it is hoped that figure raised will be more than £100. The money will give elderly members of the Luncheon Clubs extra treats.
In the past the money has been used to take them on coach trips. The Luncheon Clubs are held every Tuesday and Friday.
Cllr Ronson said: "Some of the elderly members don't get the chance to go out much. The money gives them the opportunity to have a great day."
Anyone interested in joining one of the Luncheon Clubs should contact Cllr Ronson on 01204 695742.
