THE dust has finally settled on one of the greatest victories by a British boxer in my lifetime, but you have to wonder what Ricky Hatton's next move will be.
As I sat, bleary-eyed, watching Hatton create history against the legendary Tszyu, I wondered whether there was anyone who could have matched him in front of the screaming hordes of Hatton fans who flocked to the Manchester Arena.
To be a champion, sooner or later you have to beat the best, but to stay a champion you can pick your fights a lot more carefully.
Will he grant Kostya Tszyu a rematch? Will he challenege another champion like Arturo Gatti, Miguel Cotto or Vivian Harris? Or will fellow Brit Junior Witter finally get a crack at championship gold?
My money would be on Hatton taking slightly safer ground in a mega-money showdown against lightweight champion Diego Corrales. Both fighters are big draws for American TV audiences, and rumours have already started to circulate that a double bill with Jeff Lacy and Joe Calzaghe could be on the cards.
Without a doubt, the light-welterweight division is the most exciting out there at the moment. Before too long, we may be able to add Bolton's own Amir Khan to the list of superstars who currently ply their trade at this level.
Khan is stuck in a familiar no man's land for fighters at the start of their career as he waits to be matched up with an opponent for his big pro debut on July 16.
It won't be long before the Olympic silver medalist can start to pick and choose his fights but how long before he steps up a weight and wants to cross swords with Hatton?
The show, we are told, will be known as 'Who's the Daddy?' and will feature fellow headliners Matt Skelton v Danny Williams for the British Heavyweight Title.
A quality packed undercard features Chorley star Michael Jennings challenge Birmingham's Jimmy Vincent for the Vacant British Welterweight Championship. Sheffield's former record breaking British Light-Middleweight champion Ryan Rhodes, Margate's former WBU Light-Middleweight Champion Takaloo and Welsh star Tony Docherty complete the card.
