FORMER Emmerdale star Amy Nuttall has been banned from driving - despite telling magistrates she felt vulnerable using public transport because she was famous.
Nuttall, who appeared in court on her 23rd birthday, lost her licence for six months under the totting-up procedure when she appeared before Burnley magistrates.
She had been caught driving at 45mph in a 30mph area.
The actress, who comes from Bolton, played Chloe in the TV soap and now plans to be a singer.
She told the court she has a tutor in Colne, East Lancashire, where she was caught speeding on the Keighley Road on January 11.
Nuttall, who already had nine points on her licence, had argued she would face exceptional hardship if she was disqualified.
She had told the court she felt vulnerable on public transport because she was well known.
But prosecutor Elizabeth Read told her she would not be the only attractive young woman using it.
Nuttall, of Chapel Lane, Hoghton, Preston, admitted exceeding the 30mph speed limit.
She was also fined £200, with £35 costs, after magistrates said they could not find exceptional hardship in the case.
Chairman Alan Hunter warned Nuttall she could end up in jail if she flouted the ban and advised her to watch her speed when she was back on the road.
