A TEMPORARY banning order designed to stop two teenage thugs from terrorising residents has been extended for a further five weeks.
Andrew Hilton, aged 18, and Stephen Wilson, aged 16, are banned from the centre of Little Lever where they were responsible for a catalogue of crime.
The pair have also been told they must not act in a way that could cause harassment, alarm or distress to members of the public.
Magistrates agreed on Friday to extend the interim Anti-Social Behaviour Order on the pair while a full order is prepared and warned them they faced five years in prison if they flouted the strict conditions.
An earlier hearing heard how the pair had been involved in a string of violent incidents which included:
l A racist assault and threat to burn down a man's house
l Punching a man four times in his face so hard his teeth were pushed into his gums
l Attacks on local residents and customers visiting a local fast food outlet
l Stopping traffic in Market Street and Church Street and intimidating drivers in oncoming vehicles
l Throwing bottles at nearby business premises
l Instigating mass brawls.
The order was drawn up by Bolton Council last month to protect residents and could be made permanent on July 18.
Hilton, of Victory Road, Little Lever, and Wilson, of Marsh Road, Little Lever, are also banned from behaving in an anti-social manner as to cause harassment, alarm, or distress to any person.
They are also banned from intimidating any person; being with two other people in a public place in a manner likely to cause any person to fear for their safety; and from entering a defined area in parts of Little Lever, between the hours of 7pm and 6am.
