THE stars of comedy Phoenix Nights hope to score a winner at the Reebok Stadium and raise cash for Christie's Hospital.
Stars of the famous Peter Kay comedy, including Paddy McGuiness and Justin Moorhouse, will join other celebrity teams, such as the Coronation Street All Star Eleven, in the football tournament on Sunday, June 19.
All proceeds from the star-studded event will be donated to the hospital which is Europe's largest cancer treatment and research centre.
The money will be used to help pay for a bronchoscope, which will be used by lung specialists to monitor and treat lung cancer.
Other teams taking part include Bolton Wanderers Old Boys, Manchester United Veterans and Manchester City Old Boys.
The event, which costs £1,000 per team, has been organised by the Hamburger family, who own Euromark Menswear, in memory of a family member who was treated at Christie's.
Last year, the event raised more than £45,000.
Jo Hamburger said: "Most people know someone who has been affected by cancer.
"It really is a terrible disease and it is up to everyone to do what they can to help support the medical staff who treat patients every day and scientists who complete research that will eventually help us beat it. We're really pleased the stars of Phoenix Nights are able to join is.
"We're very grateful to everyone who has supported us and helped us organise the tournament and we're looking forward to beating last year's totals and raising a phenomenal amount for a very worthy cause."
The Hamburger family want to hear from businesses who would like to take part in the event by putting forward a team or by attending a evening dinner. Jo can be contacted on 0161 839 2300 for more details.
There is a small admission charge and the event will start at 10.30am with the Coronation Street All Stars, followed by the Phoenix Nights team at 12.30pm.
