PERFORMERS battled it out to win a spot in the semi final of the Horwich Carnival Talent Competition.
The first heats were held at the RMI Club in Horwich.
Competition was high and judges had a difficult task choosing which acts went through to the semi-finals.
Semi-finalists include the Children's Workshop group performing "Thriller", a three-year-old singing "My Boy Lollipop and a singer/dancer with her rendition of "Leaning on a Lamppost".
The children's heats had a massive turn out but organiser Sue Denton was disappointed with the number of entries in the adult sections.
Sue said: "We had only two entries in the adult section, and although both performers were of a really high standard I was disappointed that we didnt have a few more".
A second set of heats will be held at 2pm on Saturday, June 25, at the Old Station Park, Horwich for anyone aged 16 and above.
Sue said: "If we can get a few more competitors, the crowds will have some extra top class entertainment."
To enter contact Kathy Gilfillan on 01942816352. Entry fee is £5 per act and it will be on a first come first served basis.
