WOMEN from Bolton put in an appearance for an important fixture at the City of Manchester Stadium.
They were among more than 150 women who attended a free Women in Business Reception, organised by The Business Club, the North-west's biggest free-to-join networking organisation.
The reception provided businesswomen with an opportunity to hear from three inspirational speakers and network with fellow leaders across the region.
It was organised to co-incide with the 2005 UEFA European Women's Football Championships being held in the North-west.
Guests heard from Sarah Bailey MBE, Britain's most decorated female Paralympic swimmer. Sarah, from Eccles, shared her story and spoke to fellow guests about her ambitions for the future.
Other speakers included TV presenter Esther McVey and Sunday Times business editor Rachel Bridge , who focused on successful female entrepreneurs and how they "made it".
Christine Gooddy, a business development manager at The Co-operative Bank, said: "The reception was an extremely enjoyable event.
"It was very uplifting being surrounded by so many females who have made the leap of faith to set up in business for themselves."
