A 35-YEAR-OLD woman has died after being found with serious head injuries at her home.
Police were called to a house at Corless Fold, Astley, shortly after 11am on Tuesday.
The woman, who it is believed has a baby, was taken to Hope Hospital but died a short time later. Detectives said they were not treating the her death as suspicious.
The area around the house has been cordoned off and police set up a tent in the garden. The results of a post mortem examination revealed the cause of death was unascertainable and a file has now been passed to the coroner.
A spokesman for GMP added: "The incident is under investigation and officers are still at the scene this morning."
A 38-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault but has since been released without charge.
