I GENERALLY support the council's extension of the kerbside recycling scheme.
Though Bolton was one of the first authorities in England to adopt the wheeled bin system, we are now having to learn from the authorities which have most recently moved from a black bag system.
Most, if not all, of these go with the fortnightly collection from the start mostly without over-flowing bins.
The main difference between these and what Bolton are implementing is they collect cardboard at kerbside.
For this reason, most families of more than two will have surplus refuse every fortnight. Why is cardboard not being collected? Unless people take the trouble to take it to the local recycling centre, they will most likely burn it.
So, support the councils initiative and, hopefully, they will see sense on the cardboard issue. Oh, and can we have more, or deeper, boxes?
