A PRIMARY school has received top marks from the Governments watchdog for education.
Ofsted inspectors struggled to find any weaknesses at Eatock Primary School in Westhoughton on a three day visit.
All areas were praised as being "very good" from the heads leadership down to pupils behaviour.
Childrens achievement was described as being very good overall, with standards above average by year 6.
Performance in the core subjects of English, mathematics and science was also said to be very good
Pupils attitudes and behaviour were said to be excellent.
The report stated: The high numbers of pupils who join the school each year quickly improve their achievement.
Inspectors said: One of the main reasons why pupils achieve so very well is that teaching and learning are very good.
Learning is very interesting, fun and pupils know exactly what they should learn and achieve.
Very thorough assessment helps pupils to recognise their achievements and improve.
The headteacher Naomi Richardson was singled out for praise of her leadership and management of the school.
The headteachers innovative leadership motivates both staff and pupils alike, according to inspectors.
Extra curricular activities, such as school outings, were praised for widening pupils experiences.
Inspectors stressed that more emphasis on multiculturalism was needed.
Parents were criticised for taking children on holiday in term time, and some reluctance to be involved in school activities.
Mrs Richardson said: We are extremely proud of our excellent Ofsted report.
We have all worked hard to make our school such a special place.
