THE Bolton junior Inter-league side followed up the senior team's recent win to stretch the series score against rivals Bury to 2-0.
The juniors were convincing 279-163 winners after Bolton scored 152 in the first innings with Rachel Crilly 27, Lucy Chadwick 25 and Lauren Parkinson 23 topping the scores.
Bury replied with 79 and were forced to bat again, this time scoring 84, this left Bolton needing only 11 runs for victory. Instead they forged ahead to score 127, including 30 runs from Lucy Chadwick earning her the Players' Player award.
Abbey Jolly, one of the youngest players on the field at 13 years of age, scored seven runs and took a catch in her first outing at inter-league level.
In the second round of the cup competitions in the Healey Karwat, Rupert Ladies overcame a 240-handicap scoring a magnificent 372 runs in the 40 minutes allowed against Howarth Roofcraft to reach the last 16.
Darcy Lever CC B were another team to win with a large handicap in their 323-273 defeat of Adlington St Pauls.
In the Dorothy Clarke, Impression Ladies (M) won their match 266(I)-131 without the need of their 60 runs start against FFS (J).
Little Lever XI had a welcome win in the league over Davies XI in section A, an exciting game that saw the teams drawn at half time with 57 runs. Little Lever then scored 86 and held Davies to 65 in a final score of 143-122. Top scorers for Little Lever were Julie Bluer 28, Abbie Mort 23, Zoe Bluer 19 and Paddy Gregory 17.
At the opposite end of the league, Church Inn and WM Ladies sat in the middle of Section O with six points each. Church Inn came out winners 138(I)-65 with Nicki Bentley 24, Leah Campbell 23 and Robbie Shuttleworth 23.
Ladybridge XI claimed their first points of the season against fellow N Section strugglers GT Ladies.
The Intermediate Interleague match against Bury takes place on Friday, June 17, at Darcy Lever at 7pm.
Round Two (week two) of the Healey Karwat Trophy and Dorothy Clarke Cup takes place on Sunday, June 19. All matches start at 2.30pm, and winning teams have to telephone match scores to the results secretary.
