IT is nice to see Royal Ascot moving north for the first time since 1711, albeit to the wrong county, however the attendance of the Queen was a cause of concern to some Yorkshire purists.
Why?
Well you see, she was wearing a diamond brooch bearing a red rose motif and why not Her Majesty is after all the Duke of Lancaster.
The sporting of our county emblem will remind those on the other side of the Pennines that we are still top dogs.
