Wanderers will play two matches in Thailand as part of their preparations for their first European campaign.

Opponents have still to be named but the Whites will play the two matches in the Thai capital, Bangkok, on Wednesday, July 20 and Saturday, July 23.

It is the first time that Bolton have been invited to take part in the four-team Premier League Asia Trophy in Thailand.

They will compete in the tournament against Everton, Manchester City and Thailand.

Sam Allardyce and his team will then move on to Japan for the second leg of their tour where they will meet two 'J' League sides, who are currently in the middle of their season.

The Whites will play Vissell Kobe at the Kobe Universade Stadium on Tuesday, July 26, kick-off 7.30pm and two days later take on Kowasaki Forntale in the Todoraoki Stadium, kick-off 7.15pm.

Kobe are currently bottom of the Japan League while Kowasaki, who gained promotion after winning the Second Division title, are 13th out of the 18 teams.

Allardyce said: "It is fantastic news that the team will be playing in the Far East this summer. It is an honour that we will be representing the Premier League in such a prestigious tourament in Bangkok.

"It will be a new experience for us to face Japanese opposition. The opportunity to play in Japan, which is a hot bed of football, is tremendous.

"The club's profile is widening by the day and the tour gives us a further opportunity to promote the Wanderers abroad in a country that loves football."
