MANCHESTER City football club's renewed push for a European place next season will need plenty of resources.

Bolton design agency Fudge Studios will be helping City to swell the coffers by encouraging fans to buy the club's branded gear.

Revenue from merchandise lines will bring in more than £4 million next year, and Fudge, based in Mawdsley Street, has been chosen to come up with City's latest retail campaign.

A catalogue will be launched later this summer, featuring merchandise such as kits, balls, pennants and additional clothing for the new season.

Fudge director David Eccles said: "The brief has been left entirely open to us, giving us plenty of scope to develop the creative work that Manchester City expects."

Fudge Studios have worked with Manchester City for the last five years.

Projects have included a City in the Community campaign.

City marketing director Ian Howard added: "Fudge Studios have consistently produced innovative, eye-catching creative work and we are pleased to be working with them again."
