REGARDING your item Heavy Bins.Congratulations to Mr James Ashton on his stance, and to the council on its Health and Safety policies, which is, as it should be, the safety of their employees. But then they begin to push for a twice-a-month collection of grey bins.
Won't these be even heavier, given the small size of the green boxes? Not to mention health and safety issues - two weeks, hot sun, rotting food, and what will happen if it is too bad to collect in the winter. Will this mean we wait for a month (it will get heavier), and if, as they say, the bins flip off the lift on the wagon, surely this is a design fault in either the bin or the lift?
Let's have some answers please from the executive commercial services bin flippin outreach heavy co-ordinator.
Mr R Haslam
