A BOLTON schoolgirl was so moved by the story of a two-year-old burns victim from Pakistan that she resolved to do something to help.
Madi Richardson, aged 13, read a magazine article about the little girl, who will be undergoing treatment for severe burns while staying in England - care she could not get in her home country.
But the treatment is expensive - around £470,000.
So the teenager, of Wythburn Avenue, Doffcocker, enlisted the help of school pals Alex Helmn and Jessica Emmett, and organised a sponsored run in fairy costumes around the Reebok pitch.
Madi was adopted by Kath and Dave Richardson after coming to England from Romania for medical treatment.
She is a keen charity fund raiser, annually boosting her parents Good News for Romania charity - which helps the poor and orphaned in Romania - with a run at the home of Bolton Wanderers.
Kath Richardson said: "When Madi read about the little girl, she said she wanted to help her.
"She said shed do her usual sponsored event, but would give half to the Romania appeal and half to this little girl."
The girls decided the fairy costumes would add fun to the event.
The run takes place on Thursday, and Madi is hoping to raise £1,000.
Anyone who would like to sponsor Madi can contact the Richardsons on 01204 841906.
