A 17-YEAR-OLD girl from Kearsley is one of two people arrested in connection with the murder of two teenagers in a house fire.
The girl, along with a 27-year-old man from Salford is being questioned by detectives investigating the blaze in which best friends Vikki Preston, from Kearsley, and Rhona Schofield, both aged 19, died.
Their bodies were discovered in a house at King Street, Higher Broughton, Salford, shortly after 4am on Tuesday May 10, The pair, described as "inseparable" had been attending a party at the house.
Detectives investigating the murder were granted more time to question the two people who were arrested on Tuesday. Officers were granted an extension which allows the pair to be held without charge until midnight on Friday.
Vikki was the second eldest of eight children and she was described as a "bright and happy girl" by her devastated family.
