OLYMPIC rower Sir Matthew Pinsent will be taking to dry land when he opens the Royal Lancashire Agricultural Show.
The quadruple Olympic Gold Medallist will be guest of honour, at the three day rural event, which is being held, for the third year, at Salesbury Hall Farm, Ribchester, near Blackburn, from Tuesday, July 26 to Thursday, July 28.
As well as farm livestock, there will be showing classes for horses, goats and donkeys.
There will be a show jumping event and a farmers market alongside the entertainment, which features helicopter rides, jousting, Cossack Trick riding and Birds of Prey.
Organisers say that the traffic delays which have dogged the show in previous years have now been resolved.
Tickets are available from the show office on 01254 813769 with prices ranging from £12 for adults, £7 for senior citizens and £6 for children.
A family ticket (2 adults, 3 children) costs £30. Pre-show tickets cost £10 for adults, £6 for senior citizens, £5 for children and a family ticket costs £25.
