A FARNWORTH woman is donning her best knickers and preparing to walk for charity.
Laura Gallagher has organised a charity "knicker walk" to raise money for the Endometriosis SHE Trust, which supports women with the painful womb condition.
She has already recruited staff from Mount St Joseph's High School, where she works as a curriculum support teacher, but is appealing for more women to take part in the walk on July.
Mrs Gallagher, who is also studying English, was diagnosed with endometriosis three years ago after a routine smear test, but had been suffering the painful symptoms for nine years.
She said: "This is something that's completely under-researched and underfunded compared to how many women suffer from it, and it seems nothing is being done about it."
The sponsored walk will take place on July 1 on Mount St Joseph's playing fields.
Mrs Gallagher said: "We'll be wearing knickers and looking really daft, but I hope it will raise the awareness of endometriosis as well as raising some money for the SHE Trust."
Anyone who would like to take part in the walk or sponsor Mrs Gallagher can contact her at Mount St Joseph's on 01204 391 800.
