TOM Smith scored his second century of the season as Chorley picked up a winning draw from Saturday's match at home to local rivals Leyland.

The England Under 19 all-rounder scored 108 to take his season's run tally in league matches to 484 from 10 innings at an average of 53.78.

He will face a stern test this weekend, however, when Chorley visit league leaders St Annes who last week crushed second placed Netherfield by nine wickets.

They dismissed the Cumbrian outfit for just 51 with their Australian professional Shane Harewood finishing with the incredible bowing figures of seven wickets for just ten runs.

The pace bowler has set the league alight with some startling bowling performances taking 44 wickets so far this season.

He can also perform with the bat and was unlucky to score a century in Sunday's League Cup match at Lancaster in St Annes total of 299/3 only for the game to be rained of and for his team to lose the subsequent bowl-out.

Sunday's league cup game with Fleetwood was a dismal stop-start affair with Chorley eventually well beaten after being set an improbable Duckworth-Lewis target of 143 in 25 overs. Last Saturday saw Chorley's second X1 return to the top of their division with a four wicket win at Leyland
