SHAUN Teale's promised shake up of the reserve set up has seen Mark Physick appointed manager of Chorley Reserves.

He said: "When Shaun contacted me and offered me this position it was too good to turn down.

"I hope that I can bring something fresh to the club and assist in our push for promotion to UniBond Premier status next season."

Physick, who is a scout for Everton, gave a message to players.

"Come along to Victory Park on Tuesday, June 28, and join us for training.

"All players will start with a clean slate, so it will be up to every individual to impress us and claim a place in my squad.

"There will be a totally different approach compared to previous seasons, so it's up to you." He is hoping to introduce several new reserve players with professional club experience.

He has worked with Magpies player manager Teale at Southport, and was then his chief scout at Burscough during the successful FA Trophy campaign two years ago.

Physick, has previously been in reserve management with Lancaster City, and brings ex-Formby stalwart Paul Guy to Victory Park as his assistant.

Next season may see Friday night reserve matches, which has advantages for senior team selection.

Chorley Reserves will meet Bury on Wednesday, July 13, and Stockport County on July 27.
