EAGLEY pulled off a Hamer Cup shock when they dumped holders Westhoughton out of the competition on Sunday.
In one of two ties which were carried over after last week's rain, they won by five wickets with just three balls remaining.
In the other, Farnworth beat Walkden by one wicket at Bridgeman Park.
At Eagley, Westhoughton resumed their innings at 138-5 but were bowled out for 166 after Steve Foster had taken his wicket haul to 6-73.
Pro Mike O'Rourke then led the Eagley reply hitting 79 not out with solid support from Dave Shuttleworth (38) in a partnership of 86.
Westhoughton pro Antonio Mayers took 4-84 and the match was won in the last over with Eagley reaching 168-5.
Farnworth were grateful to their last pair for their win. Walkden resumed at 126-2 but Tim Barrow 5-35 and Chris Barrow 4-56 managed to contain them to 184, David Smith top scoring with 78.
In reply, Farnworth looked to be in trouble at 74-5 until pro Brenton Parchment (84) and Chris Barrow (45) put on a partnership of 81 to put them in a winning positon at 155-6.
At that point, however, they lost three more wickets and when the last pair, Andy Patterson and Neil Hyde, came together, 19 runs were still needed for victory.
It looked a tall order against the experienced Walkden bowling attack but Patterson led the way with a knock of 18 not out, and with Hyde playing the anchor role to perfection, they were able to steer Farnworth to 185-9 and a semi-final place.
